Event Description:
New York State law requires that employers provide a sexual harassment prevention policy and training on an annual basis to all employees, and encourages training of new employees as soon as possible, noting that employers may be liable for the actions of employees immediately upon hire.

About our presenter:
Linda Bryan, MPS, received her sexual harassment prevention training from Hancock & Estabrook LLP. She holds a Masters Degree from the School of Industrial & Labor Relations at Cornell University. She previously served as Director of Employee Assistance Program at Family & Children's Service of Ithaca, where she provided human resource consultations for regional businesses and not-for-profit organizations.

- An explanation of sexual harassment consistent with New York State guidance;
- Examples of unlawful sexual harassment;
- Information regarding federal/state law on sexual harassment and remedies available to victims;
- Information regarding employee rights of redress and available forums for adjudicating complaints; and
- Address supervisor conduct & responsibilities.
