ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Include the following; however, other duties may be assigned.
1. Performs all the functions of a Room Attendant as needed in addition to ensuring the guestroom is clean, attractive, and welcoming for guests.
2. Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping.
3. Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
4. Strip and make beds, changing bed linens, which may require lifting bedspreads weighing a maximum of 40 lbs.
5. Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly.
6. Push and pull vacuum and/or swifter throughout entire room and empty trash.
7. Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guestroom.
8. Sign for room keys, stock housekeeping cart, retrieve, and push to assigned rooms; visually inspect room for cleanliness and appearance and sign-off completion of room; perform a quality check on television, telephone, heating/air conditioning and lighting, promptly report any damage, engineering problems, and safety hazards to management.
9. Assist in the inspection of cleaned guestrooms, turndown service, public areas, and back of the house; ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, health/sanitation, OSHA standards, and standard operating procedures to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
10. Assists with assignments of special requests, issuance of supplies to staff and logs items into the Lost & Found log as needed.
11. Respond to guest requests, concerns, and problems to ensure guest satisfaction and impress guests with quality and timely service in a friendly and efficient manner.
12. Comply with attendance rules and be available for work on a regular basis, in uniform with nametag; be well versed and informed regarding hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate.
13. Properly stores carts and unused supplies at the end of the shift.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good communications skills; self-starting personality with an even disposition; maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times; can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player; knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment; ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs; ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms overhead to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined space; stoop, squat, and stretch on a regular basis; attention to detail with good organizational and efficient time management skills.
